Cookie Policy
Effective date: July 3, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar browser storage the Home Energy Group website actually uses. We keep it simple on purpose: this site sets no cookies at all until you make a choice in the cookie consent banner.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device to remember things between visits. Websites can also use similar browser storage (like session storage) that lives only in your browser and is cleared when you close the tab or browser.
What this site stores
-
cc_cookie— your consent choice (necessary). Set only after you pick an option in the consent banner. It records which cookie categories you accepted or rejected, when, and an anonymous consent ID, so we don't ask you again on every page. First-party cookie; expires after about 6 months. -
heg_lead— form hand-off (necessary, session only). Set only if you successfully submit one of our forms. It briefly holds your first name and which form you used so the thank-you page can greet you, is read once on that page and deleted, and disappears entirely when you close your browser.
That's the complete list today. This site does not currently set any analytics, advertising, or social media cookies, and no third party sets cookies through it.
Cookie categories in the consent banner
- Necessary — the two items above. Required for the site's core behavior (remembering your consent choice and completing a form submission), so they can't be switched off.
- Analytics — off by default and currently unused. If we enable a website analytics tool in the future, it will run only for visitors who have accepted this category, and this policy will be updated to name the tool and its cookies.
Third-party requests that don't use cookies
Our homepage asks the Open-Meteo weather service for current Brush Prairie conditions. That request carries no cookies and no personal information — see our Privacy Policy for details. If a form is protected by Google reCAPTCHA, a notice appears next to that form and Google's own policies apply to it.
Managing your choices
You can change your mind anytime: clearing this site's cookies in your browser makes the consent banner appear again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies broadly in your browser settings, though blocking the consent cookie means we can't remember your preference between visits. Instructions are available for Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, and Safari.
Updates to this policy
If the cookies this site uses change — for example, if analytics is enabled — we will update this page and its effective date before the change takes effect.
